Undergraduate Internships in Obesity Prevention and Control

The UNDO research group in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Lee is now accepting qualified interns for summer 2013. Available to Health and Human Performance, Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Psychology Students.

Interns will gain experience with different research related duties including:
♦ Physical health assessments (resting heart rate, blood pressure, height, weight and
percent body fat)
♦ Auditing neighborhoods with advanced field data collection technology
♦ Organizing and processing research data
♦ Recruiting and helping research participants in the virtual world of Second Life

Interns will be scheduled based on their availability and project needs:
♦ Shifts include morning & afternoon
♦ Hours range from 12 to 20 hours per week

Successful applicants must have:
♦ Excellent interpersonal skills
♦ Demonstrated writing proficiency
♦ Strong organizational skills
♦ Ability to work independently
♦ Computer literacy and interest in obesity or related health research
